There have been some crazy things that have happened in Celebrity history: breakups, marriages, and/or kids to a different father/ mother. But now we can add confession of murder to the list.
Actor Michael Brea confessed to killing his mother with a three-foot ceremonial Freemason sword in the Brooklyn apartment that they shared. He said that God told him to do it because she was possessed by a demon. When he asked her if she believed in God, she replied, "No Michael. No." Brea said that she then began to scream. He continued to explain that he "began slashing her like this," making violent hacking motions with his right hand.
Sure we think our moms are evil when they ask us to pick up our room or take out the trash. And we think that she could be Satan himself when she says no to going out to a late night party, but really? Slashing your mother with a sword because she does not believe in God? Brea said that he was, "Doing the work of God." If I am not mistaken, the fifth commandment says that you should honor your father and your mother. Yeah, I don't think slashing her up because she was "demon possessed" is an exception to this rule. What is this world coming to!?

Work of Art
When you think of art, you may think of paintings or drawings. You may think of sculptures or pottery. You may even consider modeling and designing in the fashion world to be art. Art: things that express feeling and emotion.
Personally, I love pop art. It jumps out at you and makes you look at things in a different perspective. It was first introduced to the world in the 1950's in London. The word "pop art" was used to describe,
"all post-war work centered on consumerism and materialism, and that rejected the psychological allusions of Abstract Expressionism." (http://wwar.com/masters/movements/pop_art.html).
Pop Art is an original and different form of art. Sure how hard is it to just copy a picture a couple times in different colors? But when you look at it, you notice that it is much more then just copies. It gives you a different perspective of each picture. Not everyone in the world sees things the same way.

Pop Art is simple everyday objects. Comic strips, billboards, commercial products, and celebrity images are made more appealing to the eye. It is used as an attention grabber.

Light it Up!
Actor Zach Galiafinakis did the unthinkable when guest starring on the Real Time with Bill Maher. He lit up a joint and smoked a few puffs right there on set! The arguement of leagalizing marijuana in the state of California was the topic, and to prove his point, Galiafinakis gave the audience an example of the contriversial drug.
Above all other news stories and entertainment stunts that I have read about, this tops all. He actually smoked a joint, on national television, in front of a large audience! What was he thinking? I personally love his comical films. His unexpected sense of humor cracks me up everytime. His action was suprising, but not the least bit unexpected. In a way, I respect him for his courage to stand up for what he believed in, no matter what the circumstance. But there is a line between stupidity and proving a point and however amusing his actions were, he was very close to crossing that line.

Mel Gets the Boot
Everyone remembers that classic movie, The Hangover. It's helarious lines and quotes are used in almost everyone's everyday conversations. It's just never going to get old. Knowing this, then you would probably understand why Mel Gibson is so upset after being replaced by Liam Nesson because of his crazy outbursts against his ex-girlfriend. Wouldn't you be sorta upset if you were booted from the cast of one of America's favorite movies?
an insider says that that, "He doesn't understand why Mike Tyson, a drug user... who turned his life around, was given a chance while Mel was kicked to the curb. Everybody deserves a second chance." Gibson is battleing custody of his daughter at the moment and this kick to the curb is just one more thing that the enraged Gibson does not need.
Honestly I think it's kinda helarious. I mean Gibson, come on, you're just craving the headlines. Don't get me wrong, I love your movies such as Braveheart and The Patriot, but hey you're getting up there in age, I think its time to just hang in the towel. Or maybe pull yourself together.

Rutgers
Suicide? It is never an easy word to hear. You always wonder why or how someone could bring themselves to do such a thing; For 18 year old Rutgers University student, Tyler Clementi, it was cyberbullying. After being secretly recorded by his roommate and a friend, having sex with another male, the video was published online. Clementi found the video and was beyond humiliated. He then killed himself on Sept. 22 by jumping off New York's George Washington Bridge. Now the students responsible for the bullying are hiding and refuse to defend themselves publicly.
Is cyberbullying the real cause of this young man's death? I believe it is, but the question is, what is to be done about it? Is it a federal crime? Should it be a federal crime? Students who humiliate and torment others to the point of suicide should definitely not be taken lightly. It is a serious crime, simply another form of murder in my opinion!
These student intentionally posted the video and it was intended to cause damage to Tyler. Maybe they were not aware of the crazy twist this "prank" would take, but they should be prepared to take responsibility for their actions and stand up and take the blame for what has happened. Just think of the family right now, knowing that the suicide of their loved one is a result of another's carelessness and torment. It would be wrong not to consider it a federal crime.

Nothing New: Just Lindsey
Second chances in life do not come very often and if you are lucky enough to receive one, then you should take full advantage of it and really do it right this time. But as always there are exceptions to every rule. The exception in this case is Miss Lindsey Lohan. Multiple times Lohan has been to courts due to drug related issues. This past time she was in court because she failed two court-mandated drug tests during her probation period.
It originally seemed as though Lohan's luck ran out this time. Judge Elden Fox determined that Lohan will be jailed for a minimum of 30, but as always Lohan is given another chance; a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge reversed Judge Fox's ruling.
Why is Lindsey Lohan always rescued from her punishments? Is she ever going to learn? Obviously rehab has failed in her case and now the court is contemplating appointing a guardian to her to oversee and be responsible to legally manage her personal affairs. Seriously?
Some say that Lohan's drug abuse is directly related to family problems such as the recent divorce of her parents. One can not help but pity this situation, but at the same time it's about time the 24 year old grows up and takes responsibility for her own actions. She has been given multiple second chances to turn her life around and get some serious help. Each time this attempt fails. A good term in jail is just what Lohan should experience. No privileges and no way out except to get clean. Common' Lindsey, I think it's time you pull it together.

Separation of Mosque and State?
Separation of Church and State; a highly debatable topic in today's political arena. A topic that has been covered in every way shape and form. Should we allow "under God" in the Pledge of Elegance? Or is it acceptable for the name of Jesus to be even mentioned in the schools, or is it offensive to others? Every area has been thoroughly examined and argued, but as our eyes were turned another way did something else creep onto the scene?
A Massachusetts school district took its students to the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, one of the largest mosques in the Northeast for a tour. They had been learning about "Enduring Beliefs in the World Today," and their tours included trips to a synagogue, a gospel musical performance, and a meeting with Hindu religious leaders. But the fun did not end there. The district was soon apologizing to the parents for allowing a group of schoolchildren to participate in a midday Muslim prayer.
One parent videoed the field trip and at the video shows a spokeswoman for the mosque telling students, "You have to believe in Allah, and Allah is the one God, the only one worthy of worship, all forgiving, all merciful." Parents were outraged and even one parent says that he is considering filing a lawsuit or a complaint against the school district.
Are these parents overreacting? Or are they just being protective. The truth of the matter is that it does not matter! The main point is that while Christianity is under attack in schools, children are being escorted around to mosques on a field trip. They are taught about Allah and of the Islamic faith; they are also taken to a synagogue and to Hindu religious leaders, just to keep the playing field fair and safe. But when it comes to the topic of Christianity a "gospel musical performance" is showed. You can't get anymore rated G then that.
Separation of Church and State is strictly watched and censored. God forbid a bible may be found on a teachers desk where children may see it. But what of the Separation of Mosque and State? It is non existent. Why? Maybe because we do not wish to offend others or play favorites, But honestly? I have no idea.

The Unexpected
When I was catching up on the news earlier today, there was a strange article that caught my eye. A newborn baby found in a trash bag wrapped in blood and tissue paper. Yes, very disturbing! Security Guards found the baby boy and immediately brought him to the airport clinic where doctors and nurses examined, cleaned, clothed, and fed the baby. Remarkably the baby was healthy and vital signs were OK according to the doctors.
A very unexpected situation. I do not understand how careless people have become and how demented they are. A child, helpless and in no way guilty of anything, just thrown into a bag and left to fate. Where is the mother? The family? Authorities are looking for the mother now and could be criminally charged.
Could be? Could be criminally charged for attempting to murder her child? Maybe it was not the mother's fault, but whoever is responsible should be charged with some sort of punishment. Could be should not be even a thought in this situation. It's absolutely sickening! Talk about a real killer to the rest of the day. Very Unexpected day.

The American Flag Offensive to America?
The American flag: Not only an American symbol, but a world wide symbol of freedom and equality. This symbol is expressed on tee-shirts and bumper stickers and it waves on porches and from people's cars. But Colorado High School student Jeremy Stoppel was told otherwise.
After Jeremy received a ticket and had his parking lot pass suspended for two weeks for squealing his tires, he was told by the security officer to remove the two flags that he had flying from the back of his truck. The officer said that it is a school that focuses on diversity and she does not want anyone to feel uncomfortable.
Uncomfortable? It is the American flag flying in America. If someone is uncomfortable with the American flag in America then maybe they are in the wrong place. America is a giant melting pot of diversity. Everyone has their own background and culture, but that all comes together to form this country.
Jeremy said he began flying the flags last week honor of his cousin who is serving in the Navy and to honor the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Good for him! Such patriotism should be commended not shot down and disapproved. This whole incident is baffling to me. It's offensive to fly the American flag in the United States of America? Never thought I would ever hear that statement.

Restoring Honor
As most of us are aware, Saturday August 28th was the 47th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's famous "I Have a Dream" speech. This year this date was shared with a rally called the "Restoring Honor Rally." The rally was Set up and organized by Fox News favorite Glenn Beck who claims that it was not to be a political movement, but simply to honor America's military members and those "who embody our nation's founding principles of integrity, truth and honor."
Many different speakers were there to pay tribute to the men an women of the military. Among these speakers was former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. She assured the crowd that she was not there to speak as a politician, "but something much more. I've been asked to speak as the mother of a soldier and I am proud of that distinction. Say what you want to say about me, but I raised a combat vet and you can't take that away from me."
Those who attended the rally said that it was a very peaceful atmosphere. It was not based on political issues and very little political aggression was showed among the crowd. There were those however who criticized that Glenn Beck's choice to hold the rally on the anniversary of the "I Have a Dream Speech" was disrespectful to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Some called the rally an anti-government movement advocating states' rights. Rev. Jesse Jackson told reporters that Beck was mimicking King and "humiliating the tradition." Glenn Beck claimed that he had no idea that when he announced the date for the rally back in May that he had chosen the anniversary of the famous speech.
I do not understand why people are set on believing that the only goal of was to disrespect Rev. Martin Luther King. I believe this mainly because of the fact that a well known republican set up the rally which opens the door for political attacks and arguments. Alveda King, the niece of Rev. King assured the crowd that, "If Uncle Martin could be here today, he would sure commend us of giving honor where honor is due."
Even with this said, accusations of the rally being an irresponsible move and pushing "The structural breakdown of a strong national government," were still flying. But I believe that people are missing the point of the rally. It is to restore honor to America, not tear her down with racism or blind accusations. "Whites don't own Abraham Lincoln. Blacks don't own Martin Luther King. Those are American icons, American ideas, and we should just talk about character, and that's really what this event is about. It's about honoring character," Glenn Beck explained. And I couldn't say it any better. We're not black or white, yellow or red, we are all American!
